Video butchery is a project dedicated to the video censorship of Finland which was one of the toughest in the western world. The Finnish Board of Film Classification took very strict stand against violence, horror and hardcore sex in the movies and especially on the home video. You could not legally distribute a film rated for only over 18 years old on home video, so the movie had to be cut for violence when released on video. This kind of adult censorship of movies was cancelled as late as in the year 2001 in Finland.
This project is not about the statistics of minutes and seconds of what was cut. Video Butchery specializes in showing via videos what exactly was cut!
So grab your popcorn and take a trip down to a censorship lane!
